About Saliza Abdullah

Honoured with the Woman Super Achiever Award during the 7th World Women Leadership Congress & Award in Mumbai, India, Ms. Saliza Abdullah is the Group Managing Director of BG Capital Holdings – Malaysia’s 28-year-old and 100% women-owned security services company. Under her leadership, the business expanded from a single-family entity to a corporate group of companies with more than 500 employees and has diversified into technologies, risk management, training and consultancy.

Saliza is also the founder of BGCH For The Community which is a social enterprise initiative advocating awareness on personal safety and community empowerment.

Saliza currently serves as the Deputy President of the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM) and was recently elected as the first woman Vice President in the 40-year-history of the Malaysia Security Industry Association (PIKM).  She also sits on several cooperative boards and serves as Project Director for L’OREAL-NAWEM Women in Business.

Over the years, Saliza has received numerous accolades for her achievements and contributions. To name a few, in 2010 she was named in the top three of the Great Women of Our Time Awards (Finance & Business Category) by Malaysia Women’s Weekly. In 2014, she won the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund from the US Department of States, for youth community policing and mentoring program.  The following year, she received the National Council of Women’s Organizations Malaysia (NCWO) Young Iconic Award for Entrepreneurship, presented by 14th Queen of Malaysia, HRH Tuanku Hajjah Haminah. In 2019, she received the Outstanding ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network Award (AWEN) from HRH Princess of Thailand.
