About Desmond Chua

Desmond has been in the Golf & Recreation industry for more than 35 years. His career started from a specialist horticulturist at the Singapore Island Country Club and eventually to the General Manager at the current, 115 years old Keppel Club. Besides working for several country clubs in the past, he was posted to Shanghai, China in the 1990s to head a Business Unit, under Inchcape Industrial as Divisional Manager for 5 years. It was the most challenging and rewarding experience for him to start a Business Unit back then, when China had just opened it's doors for economic reforms and growth.

With both hospitality and business experiences, this combination has opened its doors for Desmond to share and work on projects to help organisations and friends' businesses on creative solutions and business strategy. In his own words" All losses you experienced in life are not loses, they are valuable lessons for you to move forward and to make it better than before".

In recent years, being an environmental advocate he has won the Singapore National Environmental Agency (NEA) - Eco Friend Award, The Public Utilities Board (PUB ) Water Mark award, and the Environmental Counsel - Merit Award. These awards are all local awards given in the recognition of achievement in driving community initiatives as part of Singapore's road map towards an Environmental Sustainability City.
